Rooster Cogburn is now standing fully erect a lot of the time, but hasn’t regained enough strength and coordination to walk erect yet. We believe he was very near death that morning I found him beaten. He must have sustained substantial brain damage due to swelling from being so savagely pecked by MR.!! Does anyone out there want a beautiful but extremely nasty rooster to guard their flock? If you take him……you get all three of the 1” PVC rooster sticks used to walk around the premises also!! Perhaps, I will do the squaring on the barn, go to Guilderland and upon returning this evening, mow the grass! (maybe) At least the sun will be down and a little cooler!
Today was a phenomenal day! We got Vick up to see Dr. Lee on the mountain and filled him in on her spinal decompression program and he was excited to see her enroll in it because he said he felt she could really benefit from the new procedure. We are going to keep Lee in the loop, because he was the one that stuck by Vick when nothing was working and even came to our house to treat her when she was down really bad. We got a bunch of pictures of Lee’s exercise room which is quite extensive, because Lee is a Doctor of Sports Medicine as well as a chiropractor. 
Boy, what a hot, sticky, humid morning with cloud cover indicative of an all-day rain session. I left the animals all out anyway. We must make a trip to Tannersville today to drop eggs off to Lee and cover with him, what is going on at Dr. Paster’s office with the spinal decompression sessions. Lee knows about Vicki going because he hinted that she might benefit from such a program, so I’m sure he will be interested in how her first session went and will also check out her alignment to make sure it is correct since this was the plan. Make sure everything is aligned perfectly while the disc heals. Vicki and my job is to make sure she does nothing to re-injure or stress the disc in any way. It’s a big loop with Vicki, Dr. Lee, Dr. Paster and Greene County Imaging and me, but it’s an all important loop of people working toward Vick’s cure. 
We made the appointment at Guilderland with Dr. Paster and went over the spinal decompression procedure and he reviewed Vick’s records from Greene County Imaging where she had the x-rays, Doppler and CT scan done a few weeks ago and Dr. Paster felt she was an eligible recipient of the procedure and that it would definitely help her chronic back pain. In fact, she had her first session on the table this afternoon and is enrolled for about 24 more sessions 3 to 4 times a week in his office. While we were there, other folks involved in the program were coming and going and I heard several uninvited testimonials for the results of the program…such as “God bless this treatment” to “It’s unreal how well this works and the results are unbelievable.” The people in the office…..secretaries, Dr. Paster’s assistant, Jim Tarantino and Dr. Mike Paster himself are so friendly and talkative that you are immediately at ease with them and the program. We warned them all that we would take pictures for the blog next time and they cheerfully agreed to be photographed.

I went out this afternoon when the rain had stopped and the sun was done broiling everything and put the loft floor down. It was still hot out there, but not as hot as it was when it was cooking the rain off. That was like a pan of water cooking on a stove. You could see the water vapor hanging in the sky as it baked off the ground, trees and foliage. I had a few beams to locate on the pushout office end, but that was easily accomplished, then I completed the plywood flooring and started to stack the pre-cut 2x4’s in the center of the floor near the stairwell opening. These, I will stack across the open end of the ceiling beams where Matt and Mark can grab them as they build the walls on the floor. That way they will be up there, but not in their way to build walls and near enough to grab and go. 
Went to work on the loft floor of the barn and got it half way done. The last piece I did was over the steps and the next one has some funky cut’s around the top of the steps, so I wanted to do that one first thing tomorrow morning while I am fresh. Everything went pretty good this afternoon and I didn’t want to make any mistakes and cut the piece wrong to spoil it, so I quit for the day. I was about roasted, sweaty and smelled like a goat to myself, so you can imagine what I smelled like to others.
