Today was a nice sunny day, but like a wolf in sheep's clothing, it was freezing and the sun was not friendly at all. Vicki and I cleaned the duckie barn and we almost froze doing it. While we were cleaning, the duckies were swimming in that frigid water and loving it! Afterward, we went to run a few errands and stopped at George's for some more bags of pellets. George owns Gem Woodstove Co. near Cairo.  George is a very kind, friendly and honest fella that just lost his wife a few weeks ago to a rare kind of cancer that was really quick. She walked into the hospital feeling sick and died 9 days later. What a terrible shock for George, his family and all his close friends. Vicki and I were devastated when we found out. We, like everyone else ask why this would happen to such a kind man and his wife. Only God knows.

On the way home, We stopped and talked to Sam the horse. His friends were there today and we talked to the pretty gray fella. Usually Sam is along the fence next to the road and ready to talk when you stop, but his friends are usually way out in the field and never come close enough to talk to us. Today, they came right over near us and the pretty gray fella looked like he was going to crawl over the fence and into the truck. All three are beautiful.

On the way up George's driveway to his store.

George's Gem Woodstove Co. store front.

Sam's pretty Friend out in the field.

He came running right over to us as if to say "Hello".

Isn't he beautiful?

Sam's other buddy didn't come over to talk to us. He never does!

Sam as we usually see him. Sometimes he doesn't care to talk either. Sometimes he does.
